Snow Summit Scenic Sky Chair Ride
Starting in May, the scenic sky chair ride takes visitors to the top of Snow Summit. You can merely take a romantic ride up and enjoy the incredible mountain scenery, or seek a more active approach, and hike at the top or mountain bike.
JazzTrax
Ride the scenic sky chair lift to the amphitheatre at the top of Snow Summit and enjoy the sophisticated sounds of jazz each summer. Typically, the festival is held in June, which offers a great escape for those along the Southern California coast from the dubious "June Gloom". (This is when the marine layer settles along the coast and just hovers in one giant grey cloud for about a month or so.) Previous performers have included: Tim Bowman, Norman Brown, Paul Jackson Jr., Kirk Whalum, Mindi Abair and numerous others.
Skiing & Snowboarding
Snow Summit has a variety of trails and terrain types that respect levels from beginner to advanced. Lessons are offered for those who wish to inquire. Skiers can enjoy a variety of interconnected runs. Snowboarders always love the Westridge Freestyle Park. As for the youngster, the Family Fun Park is always great time.
Snow Summit is also known for its sophisticated snow making machines that bring in water from the lake during the winter, and then recycle it back through the streams in the summer. So even during low-snow seasons, there's a fresh blanket of snow to enjoy.
Time to Eat
There are a couple of options to choose from when its time to take a break for some tasty chow. The Lounge offers pizza, salads, pasta and a variety of sandwiches. The Summit Haus is known for its scrumptious BBQ and magnificent mountain views. For those looking for something a little more upscale, the View Haus has a selection of gourmet sandwiches, Mexican food and daily appetizers.
